Muscle testing
|
What
does a typical session involve?
Our first appointment is very important as it gives us a chance to get to know each other. It is an opportunity for you to have your questions about HK answered and decide if you wish to work with me. It is also my chance to take a "case history" and find out what you want to achieve from our work together. There are no needles involved and you don't need to undress - just remove your shoes and possibly any jewellery you are wearing.
The fundamental HK tool is muscle testing. HK muscle testing involves applying gentle pressure on a muscle and assessing the muscle's response. This is an "other than conscious" or "body wisdom" answer.
Using this tool, the next step at our first appointment is for me to ensure your body is in energy balance and find out, through muscle testing, if we can work together. If we can, I then find out approximately how many sessions we will need to resolve your concerns and bring your body into harmony and balance on every level. When you know this, it is your choice whether or not to continue with the work.
Sessions are usually about one and a half hours long for the first and one hour for subsequent ones.
In our sessions I offer your body various techniques and procedures and, through muscle response, your body selects those that will help to restore balance. The techniques used may, for example, involve you thinking a specific thought or having a magnet or homoeopathic remedy placed on you while accupoints are gently held to re-balance them. People generally find this a very relaxing and intriguing experience.
In addition I might suggest that you take a flower essence or nutritional supplement and advise on changes in lifestyle. The specific recommendations are based on asking your body, through muscle testing, what is the appropriate thing to do.
Much of the success of HK is in its ability to address issues other than the purely physical.
Above
all it is gentle, powerful, holistic, non-invasive
and in-tune with your body’s own knowledge and wisdom.
